Richard Nicholson

Richard has worked in the catering industry for over 20 years, predominantly in central London.  Starting out at The Royal Garden Hotel and then moving into contract catering, Richard worked his way up into a number of Head Chef and Group Head Chef positions with prestigious clients such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, News Uk and The Bank of England.

Whilst working at the Bank of England as Group Head Chef, Richard studied part time at Thames Valley University for four years and achieved a Bachelor of Arts in International Culinary.

Richard has a real passion for working with both great food and great people delivering new recipes, concepts, training and organising and implementing new kitchen launches.

Little known talents: 

Kayaking – Richard loves being out on the water, any water. Be it a gentle paddle on a river, playing in the surf on the coast or most of all paddling at Lee Valley white water centre or many of the fast flowing rivers around the country.

Things that make me smile: 

Food: As you can imagine I love to try everything but especially like Middle Eastern cuisine with freshly grilled flat bread and fragrant cous cous or Asian curries with home-made pickles. Although I do try everything I really don’t like fish!
Music: All sorts, especially if it has an electric guitar in it.
Experience: In both my personal and professional life I really enjoy a challenge and learning new things.
