  • 450g Strong white flour, plus extra to dust
  • 2 tbsp Caster sugar
  • 5 tsp Baking powder
  • 4 tsp Black onion seeds
  • Coriander, small handful, chopped
  • 300ml Semi skimmed milk
  • 4 Garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil


  1. Put the flour, sugar, baking powder, onion seeds, coriander and salt into a large bowl and stir. Heat the milk and garlic until just warm, pour into the bowl and mix to a dough. Knead well to bring together.
  2. Divide dough into ten and roll each portion out on a lightly floured work surface to an oval shape.
  3. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat and fry the naans for approximately 5 minutes on each side, until golden on both sides.
  4. Serve immediately, or cook in batches and warm through the over for service.
